It is a good time to visit my site to see the changes to my home page. Not only has it be "cleaned up" but has a new video clip that shows my retail shop here in Exeter. I am no Spielberg and would hope to do another retake soon but I believe as a low budget movie goes it give a good overview on my shop. Not shown, down a spiral stair case in the corner, is my Cigar Room and Stockroom. The Cigar room (AKA Cigar Cellar) houses a full range of Havana cigars along with other Handmade varieties kept in ideal condition. The Stockroom not only holds stock from the shop but is the centre for the mail order operation.

For the Specialist Cigarette lover we have been a bit in turmoil recently with the discontinuing of Rothmans 120's, More Blue and Disque Bleu. The only real substitute for the Rothmans (& More Blue) is the More Red with Gitanes being the only French style cigarette to fulfill the Bleu gap. Further to this Treasurer and the Tor range have been difficult to get! The news is better with Tor as they are now back on stream but with still no date for the Treasure.

A little late on the market has seen the release from Havana of Romeo Short Churchills. The RSC is the only Robusto in the Habanos range categorised as medium flavour, having already been awarded a 91 from Cigar Aficionado. A resent initiative saw the Champagne industry with the Cigar importer setting up a judging panel to see "the ideal combination of Havana and Champagne". What a job!! The overall winner was Trinidad Coloniales and Bollinger Special.

Another Handrolling tobacco has entered the market and that is Pueblo. It is made is Germany and joins the self as a Additive free tobacco. It is available in a 25grm packet and seems easier to roll than the American Spirit.

For years I have shown a range of tobaccos from Ashton on my site. These have been very difficult for me to obtain depending on Bill Taylors other market forces. But in the last few weeks a new range has appear! All sporting interesting names:-Winding Road, Gold Rush, Artisan's Blend and Smooth Sailing. They are well worth a look and have a good description on the site at: http://www.the-tobacconist.co.uk/tobacco/pre_packed.asp?preManf=Ashton%2DTaylor&offset=0

I have learned recently that Imperial tobacco are closing the Ogden's factory in Liverpool. The factory in boundary lane is not only a historic landmark locally but for the whole tobacco industry. Such brands as Digger, Exmoor Hunt and Sweet Briar used to appear from its factory gates now the current production will move to the giant factory at Nottingham.

The Royal mail's changes to the postage system does not seem to have effect prices too badly. We are packing parcels aware of the size limits to keep postage down where we can. Always pleased to hear you views on my postage rates?
